I did a search but didn't see this addressed. There was one thread on burned pants, but so little in heat shields appeared to be the cause. While I was initially interested in the Bonneville T120, a couple of different conversations at work got me thinking more about the Scrambler. I had initially been turned off thinking that I would just burn myself on the exhaust pipe being so high, or the heat would be troublesome in the summer temps. The salesman said you wouldn't burn yourself. What say you owners? How is the heat?
I’ve got a Street Scrambler and haven’t been aware of a hot right leg !... I do wear Kevlar jeans so wearing anything thinner may feel a bit hot and of course shorts would be right out of the question for all the reasons we know about. Pillions are not really practical for the Scrambler and I put the rack on instead of the rear ‘seat’ so unfortunately can’t comment on hot legged pillions !
I've ridden the Scrambler a fair few times, and have a mate with one. The heat shield works very well, no complaints.
Good morning. I have been riding my Scrambler for just over a year now and don't have any noticable problems with excessive heat. Sure, it does get hot, but I haven't burned myself.
Done close to 3000 miles on mine, got the de cat version of 2in1 Vance and Hines also with the baffle out and have literally zero issues. The pipe breaths so well, shields are working spot on, I can touch the shields with bare hand after an hour of riding.
Hi, I been riding one for the last few months with V&H pipes. No issue at all. Although, I have been riding in the winter!
