Hello Boys and Girls, I signed up to browse the technical issues, opinions etc. on everything triumph related, especially the 955i . I am looking to purchase a triumph to use next to my trusted steed the old yammie XT550. He does need a break every once in a while and even if the XT does about everything I want in the hinterland of where I live, I would like to add a cycle with a bit more of everything really. My heart and head is pretty much set on the 2002-2004 speed triple or maybe a street triple. there is still a bit of hesitation there (another reason to browse this forum. So instead of anonymously browsing and upon the recommendation of Rob, a big hello from the south of France. Leon
Bon jour Leon, spent a good few years holidaying in the south of France in the early 90’s around St. Raphael etc. Some good roads in the area for biking, must try to get back there some day. Good luck with the search for your next bike.
Welcome to the madhouse you should fit right in. To keep the inmates happy we will need photos Tucker
Hi Leon and welcome! Great old thumper you own mate, reliable damn things ! You cant go wrong with either the street or speed, both great bikes, just be on the lookout when you purchase to get as clean a bike as possible.
Welcome aboard Leon, hope you enjoy the forum and all the best on finding the bike that fits your needs.
Vaporlock Welcome to the Family. You do know we inmates will require pictures to sooth us while nursey prepares our meds. Just my opinion the 9551's are a little long in the tooth now. Better with the 1050's. or the newer street triple's the 765 to me would be a better choice. But that's just my thoughts and I am the biggest idiot in the asylum. Ride Safe Joe.
Thank you all for the warm welcome. It is a lesser known fact that people ready for the madhouse are the most welcoming. something to do with a total absence of care what others think of them and therefore being able to spout unconventional nonsense at will Joe, Not sure if I would cal the 2002-2004 models "long in the tooth" but they are a great ride for the buck and still look very good. If needed, i think the subframe and seat of the later models can be swapped giving the appearance a facelift . Another thing to browse for. Yorkshireman, these days the roads around st. raphael are only manageable by bike, you'll be perpetually stuck in traffic in a cage. but yes, the backroad in the south a fantastic. my own backyard is more Florac (lozere, tarn, auvergne) i'll come up with a tray of your favorite meds for you all as soon as. Leon
Hi....I'm a newbie to triumph and bought a 2002 triple 955i in November. I love it. Any decisions yet?
