good morning and hope all is well ! ..I warmed my triple up yesterday and found that the headlamp now has a nice melted hole in both sides of the headlight! Does anyone know if you can buy just the glass? I’ve searched the web for replacements but can only find on eBay whole units that are damaged

    Hi Darren,

Unfortunately you can't buy the lens, it's a full unit only for about £360 per headlight from triumph.
I bought a set from eBay for about £180 at the time, then invested in a unit that switches the headlights off, this also can be found on eBay.

Headlights on those are crap matey, mine and a friends bike had this problem with the same model bike.

Another thing before you buy second hand check with triumph UK as I'm sure they had a recall on those headlights.

Fingers x'd you may get those for free.

    Totally agree.

Has this happened with the original bulbs fitted ? I've heard this can happen with a powerful bulb upgrade.

Just std replacement bulbs from Halfords, though even with original bulbs in I always thought it got really hit, that much I’d warm my hands up on the lens after a ride!

Perhaps not if you're using a non-standard bulb that heats beyond the design and ran the bike too long stationery and therefore without air cooling.

PM me the last six digits of your vin number and I'll check whether there has been a recall.

Darren in a previous thread, newbies hangout, you said you’ve fitted brighter bulbs

That could be the extra heat source thats caused your problem.

How do you get along with the headlight switch, is it the square deals one?

    Hi sprinter

Yes it was the one from square deals it was easy to fit and it worked great, highly recommend.
Think it cost about 40 quid but could potentially save a massive payout for something you shouldn't have to worry about anyway.
