Hi all. From South Australia, ride an 08 st sprint (best bike ive owned) looking to buy 97 t595 very low ks, one owner with all books. I have read gearbox horror stories and wondering is it really that bad? Do i buy or not. Kind regards

Hi and welcome! The only thing I have heard (and recently experienced) with the gearbox isn't actually gearbox related as such, the neutral light switch fails when hot (takes a long time and plenty of use though) so you can't find neutral... I replaced mine a couple of weeks ago for that very reason. It would also mean you wouldn't be able to start the engine if you had shut it off I guess, if it "thinks" you're in gear. Edit... Realised its not the sprint gearbox you are wondering about. Durr. Still, probably the same switch.....
Duffman 71 Firstly welcome to the Family. I had two friends with 595's and believe they were hammered to pieces. I had the sprint 955. I used to let them go. Both bikes never complained. One sold his bike the other was still riding his about 5 years ago when I last saw him. And Like Bad Billy said if they were that bad they would have been slated to pieces. That Black steed of yours will go down a storm on here. The inmates will dribble over it all night. Poor Old Nursey will get a well earned break Ride Safe Joe.
