Nice photo, I am trying to get a track day in before first race of next season, 16th of Feb at Brands looks likely, just such a gamble with the weather but I need to do some testing as not even ridden the bike yet!

cheers ,I generally don't do uk track days before end of April /May because of the reason you stated may be taking a gamble on this one ,have u thought about a cheeky Spanish one early in the new year 3 days at Cartagena or somewhere suspension set up there for about £50 and will work with u over tat period

I would love to feck off to Spain and do the 3 days on a warm dry track, if only budget would allow!
I have set the (budget) suspension sag etc, the best I can get loaded sag to is 32mm front and 40mm rear, was looking for 25mm both ends but I have run out of adjustment.
I will go with that for the moment as the alternative is an expensive visit to a specialist to get internals rebuilt and springs changed, that's why I am desperate to get some track time in and considering mid Feb, at least then if I can't race with it as is I got a month before 1st round to sort.

Hi did Cartagena last month doing brands in April ,cost of day track only £180 but it’ll be more like £250 van hire petrol etc ,doing Catalunya next September think price of 3 on track and 3 nights in hotel inc bike shipment £700 but spending money flights etc looking more like £1100 all in details on these on No Limits web site ,some tracks cheaper than others ,or look at other track day organisers
Usually go in a group of others from Scotland,Newcastle,Lincolnshire,Norfolk,Wales ,Guernsey ,Hampshire, all met on another forum about 4 yrs ago and have carried on since ,but no limit on numbers
No Limits also give free tuition again look on website

Couple of my mates with R1M's do Almeria in October each year, similar sort of deal, but they do 5 days, ride both circuits and usually shag the SC's they have on when they arrive then a set of slicks then another set of SC's which are still OK ish for the road when they get home. When you add tyres to the cost your talking serious wedge, all depends how and what you ride I guess, but if you can afford it and enjoy it then great.
It just shows how much you pay for the chance of better weather at Brands, the Feb track day is £85 vs £180 in April!

I've only every ridden the Indy circuit at Brands, which is a little short for my liking, lapping occurs pretty quickly and getting a clear run at the circuit is difficult, but hey ho! it's practice!
BSB boys go round in 44 secs ... you wouldn't wanna be a rookie in that race!

think my fastest on the Indy was around 58s on my ZX636R, was getting around 1m2s on my Husky SM510R. The GP circuit is bloomin marvellous, but is red flag central and takes ages to sort them out as folk seem to want to bin at the furthest points of the track. My day there this year only had one full session, all the others were red flagged and wasted. At least with the Indy circuit they can clear it up fast and you will also get more laps per session due to it's length! :)

That's a respectable time mate, first time I went there was my first ever track day, I was on a 955 Daytona and was doing 62's and occasional 61's. The next time I went there I had done quite a few track days elsewhere, took my 5 day old Aprillia RSV-R Factory on, having run it in over the weekend and first service Tue, track Wed! With no setting up 'out of the crate' I managed 59's, after working with the suspension guys that knew their stuff on the Ohlins setup, I got it down to 55's by the end of the day. To fair that bike was in it's element on the track & no doubt would have gone a lot quicker with a more talented rider on it.
It is about the only track that I have ridden that I can remember any times on, but guess that's because it was the first one, and then when I did it again it was to set up a new bike which I was judging on lap times.

The faster Prostocks Bandits go round in 55's, which when you consider the lack of power, the weight of the bloody things & budget suspension is pretty good.
