I hear Triumph are working on updating the Speed Triple, giving it similar rider aids like they have done with the Tiger 800. To be honest having owned a 135 bhp Speed Triple I never thought I needed traction control, rain modes and cruise control as the engine was so smooth and the power delivery so linier and predictable.
I hope they can get the power up to around 150bhp but I have my doubts the old 1050 lump is up to it and I 've heard nothing of a more powerful motor being produced. Hoping its not just an electronics package and a styling tweak.

I don't think the Speed needs traction control or riding modes either but people will want these.
I had a survey through the other month and it asked my opinion of various options. Some were added extra's and asked if I thought if they were to expensive etc.
They had the engine as 140bhp so I don't we'll be seeing 150bhp yet, though I wish they would.
There were questions about luggage options and things like adjustable footpegs.
As I told the Triumph man at the NEC I want a half faired Speed Triple with hard luggage,he said he'd get right on it

There were some interesting questions about the Street though.

I do hope the update puts it back on top of the Naked pile - Super naked these days... I was at a KTM dealer on Saturday whilst I should have been Christmas shopping for the current wifes pressie eyeing up the 1290R...mmm got me thinking - but i did order a BMW S1000R Sport back in May then cancelled as I couldn't part with the Speed - pure triple porn! Come on big T give us some bragging rights :upyeah:

I agree, went to the NEC to look for a replacement but I just can't part with the Speed......unless Triumph put a new one at the top of the heap again. It's still a cracking road bike though.

I like the KTM but bugger me it pricey, sat on the BMW and all the reviews rave about it but it didn't do anything for me,I expect it's a great ride though.
