Tonight I'm mainly drinking homemade lemsip* cuz of my stinking bloomin' cold. * recipe: Yorkshire Gold tea, a few slices of fresh lemon, teaspoon of honey, good slug of Famous Grouse with a co-codamol on the side.
Didn't realise it was caustic soda substitute. Maybe explains why it's Scotland's biggest selling whisky.
Sampling just one does not help to check quality control. The one you try may be okay, but what about the rest of them?? You MUST check both quality AND consistency. You bloody young 'uns. You think you know it all but you know nowt!! Now get on with your sampling and give us a full report tomorrow. Hic, burp, fart and vomit scores are not needed in this instance. A hangover score (from 1 to 10, 10 being really painful) would however be appreciated. Thank you, in anticipation, for your efforts and total self sacrifice in performing this important piece of essential research. They will not be forgotten.
The bird on the label is a toucan. I believe it is a resident of much warmer climes than Dublin. Was used in Guinness adverts many moons ago (when I were a lad!).
Were they on just before the silent movies? Or had talkies been introduced? (It was the jazz singer 1927, in case you'd forgotten)
Not only were they 'talkies' by then, but they were in glorious technicolour!! And the toucan featured in newspapers, on posters and on large advertising hoardings in the good old days when booze and fags were advertised widely, long before the pc brigade and the easily offended were born and started poking their snotty little noses into other people's lives. Anyroadup, I'm not THAT old really. 1927 was well before my time. Why, that's almost half past seven! Far too early for me (although for what exactly I haven't a clue).
This And this Has been a wonderful sunny spring day, a good ride to the place where craft beers are on tap... BBQ marinated butterflied chooks, fresh home made garlic, herb and cheese pull apart bread, salad....
Drunk this a few times in italIta restaurants, was on offer , so picked up a four pack. Quite a tasty brew, think I'll fetch some more.
One of my cheaper favourites, and reduced massively to £12 a bottle in Tesco's. Would have bought more, but I didn't have the car
Reconsidering now.. I like plum and damsons - especially damsons in gin... Definitely not gay then, you hoarder you!
Bought Half a dozen of them Hobgoblin beers last night, I was hoping to have a few tonight but they were absolutely freezing cold last night I couldn't stop So this evening I shall be having a glass of cold white wine or three
Mine's not pink or FRUITY Could drink this was a prezzie but whiskey doesn't like me I've tried and always came off worse
I'd love to have a Scotch right now, but can't for the life of me remember which fecking box the booze is in...
