Just a quick hello folks. I’ve been a Triumph owner previously with one if the first Daytona 675s then a Street Triple. I then had a few years away from biking, I got back into it through 2 strokes and own a few of those. About 6 months ago I bought a 2006 Bonneville Scrambler and love it but kept coming back to the Thruxton R. I’ve been looking out for the right one for a while. Finally took the plunge at the weekend and put a deposit on a white R at J&S in Doncaster. It’s an ‘18 plate with 1600 miles. Comes with the racer kit. I’ve never ridden one so looking forward to picking it up and hopefully getting a couple of decent days before the gritters turn out
Hi and Welcome to the Forum, nice bike, you're brave to buy with out a test, I have done it a few times and not been disappointed.
Nice weekend coming up - allegedly! Should give you the opportunity to get to know your new steed better before you have to start wearing an extra t-shirt to keep out the frost.
I like Beverley, even though it can get a bit busy on occasions. Just saying! But be careful not to let on how nice the East Riding and The Wolds are though. An odd incursion from South Yorkshire is acceptable (let's face it, Thorne is not that far away from Chateau Goolie - we even have direct bus and train services there), but if these buggers hereabouts decide to invade en masse then we are fecked!! Having said that, one look at Goole should be enough to frighten most of 'em away!!
Ha yes, I cycle to Goole sometimes to sample the coffee at the waterway museum.....I don’t venture further into the depths of Goole than that !
Sensible fellow! That's more than enough for anyone. Had a couple of trips on the Wheldale recently, and even got to drive the bloody thing. Very nice!! I can recommend the bacon (and egg) butties there, as well as the (mainly) home made cakes. CAKES IS GOOD! I LIKE CAKES!! Have you been to the bike shows there? Usually in April and October. Not a bad way of spending an hour or two. Here's a couple of piccies from October .......
Ashtons99 Welcome to the Family. Yes its been said but truly a nice machine. You will love the forum it a great place and even better people. Ride Safe Joe.
