Yes they were a noticeable improvement over the stock items - not by a massive amount but enough to feel slightly more comfortable over less than smooth surfaces. I think people who claim it transforms the bike are exaggerating somewhat, but just my very humble opinion! To be fair, I had very the basic ones, but they are still a progressive spring as opposed to the original units. The build quality is not great though - yes I know you get what you pay for but I'm happier with my second hand Hagons off fleabay!
Yes - I hate the look of those on a Bonnie! They were these ones: https://shop.tecbikeparts.com/products/oe-shock-bonneville-t100
Definitely don't go for the ugly TEC piggy back reservoir ones. Those damned things leak gas more often than I fart. When I finally replaced them, one of the cannisters was completely empty, and the other had very little gas left. I'm not the only forum member to whom this happened either. I now have a pair of YSS Eco, and they're a good honest shock absorber, the progressive spring is still a (slight) improvement over the originals. You do get a much more noticeable improvement by replacing the front springs with progressive ones, though. I also have TEC there, and they're quite good.
Hi, My first bike..a mid life crisis according to ex wife...or just the freedom to not give one! I’m loving it!!! So is my lad I ride out with now... Had decaf and X pipe on it from purchase and the Vance and Hines..with LED indicators...thought I wanted to mess with it. It decided to leave it as it is and maybe get another to mess with further down the line..I’m addicted. Safe riding one and all...
Just great fun to ride & quite capable as well. The only thing that I am doing to mine is to fit a centre stand mostly for maintenance purposes.
Welcome Martin, nice Black bike to enjoy. Bet you wonder why you waited so long. Great to hear you get time with your lad too. Safe riding
Hi Dart player, Yes...There’s no point in regret..though your right..the thought has crossed my mind..but made up some time this year and stuck 5k on it since April and have been away for a month of that! Intend to get out in good weather at every opportunity.Riding out with my boy is the greatest joy..especially when I just turned up..he did not know I passed my test!! He was air punching..!!
I really like the look of your rear light set up Steve, looks a treat. Can you enlighten me as to where it came from and what was involved in the fitting, etc? Are the indicators part of the same mod? Curly
Cheers Curly - its a Lucas style rear light from squaredeals (see link) https://www.squaredeals-ltd.co.uk/b...tplugplay-polished-alloy-e-marked-35672-p.asp It bolts straight to the existing mudguard without having to drill anymore holes! (unlike some, so beware!) I just bought the light but you can get them with indicators and they come with a plug and play loom as well so the wiring bit is easy! I bought my indicators separately along with front and rear relocation brackets - in fact, I used two brackets at the rear so I could fix them to the grab rail.
