    Hi guys,

My brother and I are entertaining the idea of renting a pair of american bikes and touring from San Francisco or Seattle to Yellowstone. A quick google search sent me to Eaglerider.com which ticked all the right boxes (Harleys, no one-way fees, many rental locations, not prohibitively expensive). However, this morning I decided to search "Eagle Rider Reviews" and was bombarded with many, many complaints ranging from hidden fees and poor condition of bikes to arriving at the rental location and not getting the bike you booked or even not having a bike at all! I can only imagine the waste of time and money.
Clearly this Eagle Rider is best avoided so I was wondering if any of you can recommend a rent-a-bike in western USA.

    Thanks and ride safe!!

I've used eagle rider twice without any problems, although that was through a 3rd party so booking them yourself might be slightly different? they do try and sell you the expensive insurance but we just bought the basic ins..if you booked it all online you would know exactly what the costs were

I may give another look at Eagle Rider, but it seams it's a a bit "hit or miss" and its too big an investment and commitment to gable like that. Meanwhile I've sent MCI an email to see if they can accommodate our plan. Thanks guys!

have rented from Eagle Rider on 4 different occasions(harleys),, only problem i had was with the renter telling me that "this was 1450cc much more powerful than any thing i had back in England" bike always prepped and ready.. and this wasat peak rally time ( Sturgis ) last time i went was with an mci tour to Laguna Seca (honda st1300)..same deal bike was there and ready ,,,,they do charge more at rally times..and they do like to get you to take out extra insurance,..if you buy it they will sell you it!

Well, on October 3rd my brother and I set out on our 8 day adventure from San Francisco to Fort Bragg to Reno and Lake Tahoe to Yosemite National Park and then back to San Francisco. 5 days on the road and 3 days in San Francisco to see the sights.
We decided to go with Eagle Rider for the rental of the bikes despite our concerns. Man, it couldn't have gone smoother! Picking up the bikes took a maximum of 20 minutes. 2 mint 2018 model Harleys with few miles which didn't give as much as a hiccup. And when it came to dropping off the bikes it took less than 10 minutes. OK, so we didn't really spare any expense, we ticked everything. From extended insurance to roadside assistance and even their dubious "Motorcycle Model Guarantee" fee. We figured that we probably wouldn't be doing this trip again in our lifetimes so we better get all cover possible and relax during the trip.
I can honestly say that my concerns regarding Eagle Rider were definitely unfounded and I will be recommending them to any of my friends or family.

Been to Yellowstone 6 times so far, can't get enough of the place, shame that the trip wasn't on "proper" bikes though!

We had to change plans. Due to the uncertainty regaring EagleRider I didn't want to book a one way rental and be forced to get to point B in case the bikes weren't available. We went to Yosemite instead and I can tell you that the eastern entrance to the park is well worth all the hassle and money spent preparing this trip. Still want to see Yellowstone someday. Maybe with the kids next time

Regarding the "improper" bikes I do agree with you somewhat. However, I would not choose any other bike for this kind of trip and in the end, despite not being fully converted I can better understand the Harley FanBoys. They are "soulful" machines and everywhere we went we were greeted with cheer and pride. From roadside workers to pedestrians and "cagers" everyone saluted us as if we had just won the War of Independence. I don't live in the UK but I'm not sure if Triumph is able to evoke the same level of patriotism over there.

We're trying to edit a video but as you probably know, immediately after a vacation reality suddenly hits you hard and time begins to fade once again into a black hole called "routine". Once we get a video up I'll be glad to post it. :)

If you do manage to get to Yellowstone, make sure that you also visit the Grand Teton national park, really beautiful scenery, much more picturesque than Yellowstone.
