That's bad news indeed and it sounds painful. I've pulled a few muscles now and then getting the Bandit on it's main stand. Dare say that's going to put the mockers on your marathon running too !
Hi Rooster That is some seriously bad luck mate. Get well soon. Don't think I'll bother with a centre stand for the Bonnie now
Maybe this will make you feel slightly less bad I got out of my bed to take my father for a doctor's appointment on Thursday morning, as his car needs a clutch. When he was still in an hour after going in I thought that this was going to turn into a hospital trip. Meanwhile my guts were going tits up. Went to the Mater Infirmorium & dropped him off at casualty. Was sick before I got the car parked. A few hours later he was booked into the heart ward (cyst on the heart) and I was waiting for an ambulance to take me to the Royal I had blood tests, ultrasound, x-rays and am going for an MRI soon. I have pancreatitis and this apprears to be brought on by slighly less nasty gall stones. Gall bladder comes out tomorrow. To cap it all off BTsport doesn't want to show methe Austrian MotoGP on my tablet Bleaugh!
Hi All So it’s been 13 weeks since I ruptured my Achilles Tendon. I spent the first 8 weeks in plaster and the next 4 in a “Boot”. Finally I can now wear a normal show with a heal lift in it. I’m getting physio once a week and hopefully in a few more weeks I will be allowed to ride/drive again. As soon as I can lift my weight onto the toes of my bad leg, I’m good to go. Cheers.
Good news Rooster, those Physio's are bloody sadists by the way, but they will get you moving again, well done mate!
Hey, welcome back to the real world. Take it easy on that leg and make sure it's FULLY healed before you start heaving the bike around! Regards, Adie
That’s good news Mick. You’ll be fit to be riding soon,,,,, most probably right in the middle of winter
Rooster That's a real bummer. I had similar a few years ago when a dozy taxi driver decided to suddenly do a u turn. Best result for me there was a police car coming the other way and he actually booked him. As he did not indicate where as I did to over take and even better he was a biker. But it hurt my poor Speedmaster even more and they sent it to bike heaven. I do hope you are getting better and there's always next year. Caring Wishes. Joe
He might not have had his med's yet Dozers Dad. You know some inmates deteriorate quickly when not medicated and the depth they fall to is unbelievable. Stay Safe Joe
Yep, I remember, I damaged my cruciate ligament doing Moto X back in the 80's, surgeon told me I would not be able to race again, Physio said he was talking Bollox! it took 3 months of intensive (painful) treatment but she was right surgeon was talking Bollox as I managed another 2 seasons!
Glad to hear your on the mend. Physio's are cruel but sometimes brilliant and cruel, at the same time. Damaged my knee playing Ice Hockey, and the doctor and the Mister both said cruciate, but having known people with cruciate damage I disagreed. Eventually got to a physio, did some torture manuevers on my knee, agreed with me that it wasn't cruciate. He then kindly asked if he could try something. Once I had stopped screaming and swearing , he told me it was ligaments holding my miniscuse (cartilage disc between the bones) in place. Gave me excercises to do. Took me six weeks to get it back where I could walk properly, after about 4 months limping around. This was nearly 15 years ago, still causes me problems, but couple of days doing same excercises and I'm back to normal (as I'll ever be).
