Hi all, for anyone who follows The Missenden Flyer on YouTube, I did a Readers Rides recording with him a few weeks ago on my Thunderbird Storm which is available to watch from today. Apologies for my mumbling nervousness and inability to get my words out properly, but overall, I think it’s gone down well judging by the comments left. Had a good time and a laugh filming him/me riding the bike which is something he’s not done before. Nice fella and a big Triumph fan. Take a look at (if the link works, or look it up).

Good effort.......I particularly liked the line, “I live next door to my neighbour....”

I am way too ugly for photographic work :)

Ha ha. Yep the neighbour thing had me laughing too but then my other half reckons we've got lots of neighbours and this particular biker neighbour lives next door! For once, I'll agree with her... Another comment I liked on YouTube was that the mirrors look like they came off a Mk3 Cortina. I've always favoured the Mk2 as I had a 1600E with similar. Lol. There is also a little bit of Triumph verses Harley bitching in the comments too. Ah well, all good fun. Still think I was a muppet though. Harder to do than you think.

It was all cleaned up and I rode it to a friend's garage near him the night before as I knew the weather was looking dodgy for the day itself. It got a bit mucky riding from there to his place but nothing we couldn't sort in his garage.

Loverly bike, I saw and listened to one in Bulldog the other day, whilst Edna was having her bar risers fitted, may have even been yours MrB, same colour, wow the sound was super sexy, not stock pipes

I was at Woburn Pure Triumph on Saturday. Not been near Bulldog! Yeah, I have stock looking long Tors which sound great. What I was trying to say on the vid is that from certain angles, they look enormous! What put me off the short versions was I heard a few clips on YT and thought the longer ones sounded deeper? Triumph have now reduced the price for longs to £118 a pair. Bargain. If the shorts were the same I'd have a punt on some but they're still £405!

Great video. My mate has just bought a 2013 Thunderbird, 1600cc, I had a go on the motorway and it just felt “planted”. Great bikes and I’m very tempted to buy a Storm. There’s a few brand new ones still available over here, Canada, the same colour as yours or black.

Thanks, never regretted buying the Storm. I just think it’s built really well and feels quality. It’s a heavy old brute but that’s part of the charm for me and as you say, it feels surprisingly well planted on the road given it’s size. I’ve tried a few other bikes (Street Triple, KTM 790 Duke and a Bobber) and although they were all great bikes, they all felt like bicycles compared with my lump of metal!
