Lunch at Loomies - shame the place is closing on Sunday. A few bikes there including one Tiger and a Thruxton.
No sorry to be the hum bug but closing for good , a friend of mine knows the owner and the rent has Been put up to an excessive amount It seems to me a bit deliberate to kick us bikers out
Just back from an overnight round trip to Southwold in Suffolk. Weather was pretty good in both directions. Not too much traffic on the roads and they were behaving well for a change. Even the traffic on the A47 around Peterborough was good. I didn't do above 65 mph the entire way.
Fitted new tyres Michelin power 3 Need to put some miles on them know ,looks like another excuse to go for a blat
Having another trip out this afternoon. I'm off to Hereford to visit a good friend who has just purchased a Tiger Explorer. We are going to have a weekend touring the Welsh Borders. The weather looks promising and I'm keen to have a good go on the Explorer.
Had avery good ride to Hereford on the Trophy. Just had a very nice meal at my friends and now we are about to plan our run outs for tomorrow and Sunday. The Brecon Beacons becken tomorrow and I fancy a run up the Cambrian Coast on Sunday. Routes to be decided.
Another 100 odd miles today bike feels good with the new tyres Next up is getting the suspention set up or do I change the shock and fork springs .......
A good run today. Hereford to Swansea and back diverting through the Brecon Beacons. Had a couple of hours on my friends Explorer. What a beauty.
Had one of those rides today where everything seemed just right, bike, weather, road conditions, all spot on! Well, apart from some very muddy rural lanes that I used to get to see this:- Very nice!! :upyeah:
Early start today. Riding from Hereford to the Cambrian Coast then follow the coast road around North Wales and onto Chester before returning home. Weather doesn't look to bad.
Just got back home after covering 360 miles and being in the saddle for almost 12 hours. Covered 672 miles since Friday. Spent over 6 hours on my friends Explorer XC. It's definately the motorcycle I want next year. I must arrange some test rides. I have a very quiet week planned, the Trophy need a damned good clean and polish.
9 o'clock start yesterday morning nipped down to the Möhnesee (Dambusters), back home for dinner about 100 mile round trip.
Well not quite today, but fitted a quick release seat kit and covered the bike in a winter coat of ACF 50 at the weekend.
A very quiet day yesterday. Only did fifty miles visiting various dealers to try on helmets. Had a great afternoon today. Had to make a quick dash to London Eurostar at St Pancras. My partner had left her passport behind and only found out when she was trying to check in. It was nice and dry and warm, the M1 was running smoothly, no major hold ups. Traffic in London was as bad as ever but the Trophy handled it with ease. 285 miles done today.
Set off at 6 am yesterday morning for a trip to Chichester. Stayed with friends overnight, the set off this morning to Plymouth. Staying with my son tonight. Weather yesterday and today has been absolutely perfect. Tomorrow I'm heading to Cardiff and then Hereford to have another play on the Explorer XC. I'm really looking forward to it.:upyeah:
Changed my fuel tap knob for a nice black anodised aluminium alloy one from Sprint Manufacturing as my old one was starting to crack on the reverse. Nice bit of kit and will last forever. Then went for a nice couple of hours blast round Warwickshire with my Oxford hot grips on low setting. Wuss, lol
Up nice and early. Just had breakfast and now ready for my next leg of the trip to Cardiff and then Hereford.
Another 100 odd mile run today visiting a friend news tyres now run in Long may this mild weather continue
Just got back home after spending twelve hours in the saddle. The trip from Plymouth to Hereford via Cardiff was totally uneventful but very enjoyable. I then spent three very happy hours on my mates Explorer XC riding the byways of Herefordshire. Met up with a few other off roaders who gave me some very useful tips. I left Hereford at six for a pleasant ride back home. Most of the ride home was in the wet.
