    Hello!
I am putting together a 72 Bonneville basket case. I have been sorting through nuts and bolts that were in a bag. I came across five 1" and two 1 1/2" carriage/coach type bolts witch are squared under the heads. Does anyone know where these are used? I am finding out that the 72 is definitely a mongrel!

Think you are going to need a parts book for those or contact some classic dealers. I have racked my brain and can't place them other than the tail light maybe but that would only be two 3/8. But welcome to the family hope someone on here can throw some more light on it for you.

Thanks Joe! I do have the parts manual but everything is as just bolts. I went on a bunch of parts sites and entered the part numbers for the rear fender bolts. The all show standard bolts.

If I were you I would just build the bike and enjoy it. Build it the way it pleases you bolts are just something to keep in a box. Just get a bike you feel proud of and get a big smile on your face every time you kick it over.

As said don't get too hung up on the "correct" bolts...unless your going to go concourse.
