Going out to do this https://www.ambucopter.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/LNAA_RTSL_Route_Map.pdf https://www.ambucopter.org.uk/event/rtsl/ Anyone else?
So I booked Weds thru' Friday as holidays so as to get some riding in before the 'season' ends. Sod's law it's pished down with gale force winds every bloomin' day. So all I managed was a ride on Friday with Nick over to Southam around some lovely Bucks and Northants villages and back roads. High winds and not too much rain. I was on my Tiger, but missed the agility of the Bonnie (needs MOT) and Street Twin (getting new ECU) on the back roads, but loved the speed of the Tiger on the sweeping A roads. Gonna have to do the route again now we know it, with camera.
Yesterday removed ECU from the Thruxton R. Sent off to Hilltop for a re map. Will report back on findings. Hopefully money well spent
Hahaha now that sounds much better than sitting on a freezing Over Xmas I'm gunna do the same on Rosie rs, she feels like she's running lean and feels restricted. I know there's more power to be had. I'm sorry to hijack this but can't seem to start a new convo on my phone.
had a run up to Braemar today, the new outdoor area is now open at "The Bothy" Café (Opposite the "Hungry Highlander") lovely day today
Rerouted my usb ports so you dont have to lift the seat to access them. Rerouted the heated gloves cable so it is now by the ignition barrel so i dont have to run the "y" cable through my jacket (that being an utter PIA). Rerouted my trickle charger cable so the port is behind the rear footrest and easier to use.
I saw your post about a meet at Ladybower cafe and was tempted but the weather looked crap so didn't respond. Found this on thebikerguide.co.uk and when it wasn't pishing down decided to jog along .It was a good little event, 361 bikes turned out and at £12.50 each raised a minimum of £4500 not including merchandise on the day all for Lincs and Notts air ambulance. Steve Plater waved us off but didn’t ride and had gone by the time we got back
Went for a ride to Barnard Castle then came too about a mile from home and it absolutely pissed down, got it in the garage and spent half an hour drying her off whilst being soaked to the skin, that shows how much I love her. the bike I meant.
Washed and dried my Street Twin again. Third time since yesterday... 1st was planned yesterday and she was all nice and sparkling for a quick ride. Alas, despite it being a really nice dry spring day here, got covered in muck after I turned in to a road that someone had spread muck all over... So with her nice and clean again for this morning, on my way to work following a line of cars and being slightly restricted in my view of the road, I saw a road kill Pukeko right in my path - couldn't avoid going over the top didn't make much of a bump, but covered my exhaust catalyst shield and radiator in splatters of blood and Pukeko guts. Never mind, all cleaned off this afternoon after getting home. For those wanting to know, Pukeko are a native bird here, a kind of swamp hen. They are exceedingly dumb birds and are frequently road kill in rural areas. They strut about and only take off at the last moment - often they run out of the way, then panic and turn back in to your path, that's when they try to take off.
The Wife and I went for a wee ride out into the wheatbelt to a place called "Mangowine" it was one of the earliest settled farms in the Southern cross Area , Established in 1872 to 1874, It took several years to build the 'Homestead" We Did just under 500 klms for the weekend. the camper and bike, the tin shed wall hides the campsite's single shower !! no lights inside but plenty of hot water ! There are plenty of old bits and piece's left over from the earliest settlement days, Like the remains of this "old" farm truck, Possibly a Model "T" ford, not sure as there was no badging present. We had a great time exploring, Went to "NUNGARIN" the local town where we did a short "3" "Hour" tour around the War Museum, It used to be '5 BOD workshops That's 5 British Ordenance Depot during WW11, there were over 100 tanks stored and repaired here , they were all sold of to local farmers at wars end , they were modified in various ways to be used as Farm tractors used to clear the lands of trees and shrubs to make the current "Wheat Fields".

and gave them the title “Famous”? What the hell is famous about strutting about in the road getting clobbered by vehicles. I guess a certain date in August has a bit to do with it.
