Ok let’s see if this works we’ve discussed in the films thread what we’ve seen recently , so what are our favourite films of all time?
I’ve put a few to start the ball running but will edit the poll as others are suggested or rejected :)

Only if we film every soap and reality tv star being tortured , mutilated , burnt ( only partial burns , don’t want them to die yet ) was released as a horror movie called emerdale.
Forgot to add then dropped onto a stake buried in the ground to finish them off.
Total useless bunch of ( insert favourite verb /adjective insult here)

Difficult to choose an outright, undefeated, top of the pile, watch-it-endlessly favourite but I'd have to have "Man on Fire" on even the shortest of short lists. Oh, and it would have to be the alternate (original, I believe) extended cut ending where it doesn't fade out to end with him in the car but .....hmmmm ... better not spoil the ending!

I remember seeing Washington interviewed by Parky - probably one of those "promotional tv appearances" shortly after the film was released. DW's description of Dakota Fanning's performance was quite extraordinary. He seemed genuinely bowled over by her, describing how she would ad lib large parts of the early interaction scenes, most of which were retained as they were better than the scripted stuff. There does seem to be a 'chemistry' between the two of them that shines through the celluloid - or whatever its digital equivalent might be - and gives a dimension of some authority to the script, really. Oooh ... that's all very Barry Norman, innit?

Any road up, meduck, my vote is cast.

    Regards,

    Adie

You're obviously not - you didn't mention John Wick (the first one). :p Makes the others look positively benign .... though I'm not making ANY comment about "acting" in the film. Or its sequel!

Well, if you're into mindless shoot 'em ups, it's a must see. It's slowly becoming a bit of a cult classic but, I must warn you, the lead ... uhm .... 'actor' (sic) is Keanu Reeves. To be fair to him, though, he quite clearly does a LOT of training for the films - count the number of double tap and body then head shots.

And the car he uses is rather handsome, too.

What about the Marvel films ? Ironman, Captain America, Avengers, Thor, Infinity War, etc.:D

Brilliant series of films, with only a couple of duff one's from nearly twenty - Ironman2, The Hulk:confused:

Thor: Ragnarok is an absolute belter, funny, great fights and decent soundtrack. Remix of immigrant song is brilliant.

Great call, that! Chrisitan Bale has to be in the all time top 5 of anyone's 'best actor' list.

I remember seeing the initial release information for this, then it seemed to disappear without trace, unfortunately. Guess it's not quite time for the Great Western Revival ........

Blade runner from the options given, but to be honest all of the options are good!

Westworld (the modern series retake on the film) was good, and the noughties remake of Battlestar Galactica were good entertainment.
