Hi all, Graham here. Current ride is an R1200RT but, after riding the 675 Sreet on a knee down course last autumn and then test riding the 765 R, I'm absolutely desperate to add a Street 765 RS to the garage. All, I have to do is answer one question from the missus. ‘Why do you need two bikes?’

Hopefully I’ll think of a convincing argument and be part of the Triumph bretheren soon!

Hi, Graham, the answer to the question “why do you need two bikes” has to be “ cos there isn’t room in the garage for three” ;)
    Welcome along.

One's for touring, one's for fun and short trips. Also it's a bit like women and handbags and shoes, a man can never have too many bikes.

Brilliant suggestions! I’m also working on the ‘safety’ angle and an irrefutable man maths calculation that proves it’s cheaper to have two bikes.

Plus I took her to see Mama Mia last weekend.

Ha! Thanks Dozers Dad, I’m currently engaged in a very similar tactic.

    I NEEEED that Street Triple.

Next track day is on 10 days from now and hauling the RT through the Craner curves ain’t going to be fun.

Unfortunately ‘cos I can’t do real sums, I delegated all the bank shit to her years ago. So, it’s going to be tricky to sneek the Street (that I desperately need) under the radar.

Might have to do sex, and empty the dishwasher for the second time this month!

Welcome to the forum! This thread is probably the most important topic on the forum from time to time. If you think there is ANY possibility that she wants to learn how to ride a bike herself, you could suggest that you REALLY want her to ride with you and not simply as the pillion. It would be a big sacrifice to do this for her, due to the extra expense. However, you're willing to work extra hours to pay for the new bike (that you will ride), even though it is nowhere near as nice as the old bike. If she does this - - RUN!

Then you MUST have 2 bikes! She couldn't possibly expect you to ride pillion. The discussion is over. :grinning:

3 bikes minimum! 2 for me and 1 for her. (If you can count a CB125 as a bike).

Welcome aboard mate. Enjoy the ride.

As for number of bikes it's all about algebra mate.

Ideal number of bikes = N+1

where 'N' is defined as the number you currently own. Simple logic really.

    Welcome buddy :)

If you can afford a second bike then no question about it. Go for it and worry about the consequences later on :D

You can always spin up a plausible story ;)

_20180704_103525.jpg Just tell her you need a BLACK one as they go faster. She will let you have one no problem.

WELCOME FIRST. You know I can't remember the times I have gone out to the garage and begger the bike won't start. Just glad I have another I can get out. I have ended up with four. First is a classic bonnie collectors bike second a t100 centennial model for collecting later on for the children and now the 59 bonnie again for the value later on for my boys. And finally my Honda so I can keep the others clean.
    Regards
    Joe
