    Hello Again,

I've been trying to research a few things regarding my 13 Speedmaster. I'm coming up short on trusted information so I thought I might post here.

    1) Why did they make an EFI and a carbureted Speedmaster for such a late year model (2013)?

    2) What is the pro and con of carb vs. EFI? (I read more torque with carb?)

    3) The last carburetor I had was on an 85 Honda Accord. What maintenance should I consider with the Speedmaster?

    4) Is the airbox conversion kit applicable to a carbed Speedmaster?
https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle...kit-triumph-america-speedmaster-efi-2009-2015 - In the item description it specifies EFI but I have read a few random posts about it working)

    Thanks, Everyone!

Thanks for the response Dozers Dad! Here are the pics. I also snapped a photo from my Haynes Triumph Speedmaster manual. It has a carb and EFI version listed for my Speedmaster. Plus there's a choke. So I'm confused at what is what.

Thanks for the reply half ton. I posted some side pics and a shot from the manual showing a carbed version and EFi version for the bike. I'm just trying to get this straight.

Your bike is definitely fuel injected ! You can tell by the raised section immediately in front of the cap on top of the "carburettor" body , this is where the injector is located pointing forward and down into the the "manifold" part of the inlet tracts. If you undo the four screws on the cap you can see the injector for yourself, you can also tell by the wires that go into the front of the throttle bodies , they power the injector !!

    Cheers capt

Defo EFI, wiring to front of throttle body is a TPS (throttle position sensor) carbs do not have a TPS

Thanks, Dozers Dad, Capt., Ken & Sprinter! I really appreciate the help and all the information. The choke was def throwing me off and the listing in my manual about a carb version. Dozers Dad - nice old Speedmaster!

Throttle position sensor is located on the left outer side of the left hand dummy carburettor, the wires going into the front of each throttle body are the power control wire's to the injection !
