Yes mate 1st port of call lol. All ok! Thanks for the help Rocker! Ill sort all this in the morning.....spare fuses, wire ……..can of petrol ,zippo ALL standing by
Home from work this afternoon and fitted new R and G fork protectors and crash bobbins that I bought from a small UK company that just do bobbins etc, www.crash bobbins.co.UK.
Having loads of fun with my beloved Daytona 1000....Rear brake now fitted with new seals n works a treat.Torque arm bolt caused me some grief as it wasn't a Triumph spec bolt so stripped the bloody threads when I tried to torque it up. Dremel cut the bugger off n now sorted. Still having fuel starvation issue`s.Trying to get the bugger warm to try Rockers idea on the fan but it cuts out just before it would kick in So I have 3 petrol taps lol = 3 times the fun. 1 (off the bike)doesn't give fuel even when you go to prime now, assumed its blocked inside but cant see it. . 2 pi$$ out of all 3 outlets as soon as the tank is level, so mix em up & im getting there. just stopped for food a beer then back at it lol. Zippo & are at the ready
Give up for tonight! Resisted the temptation of the zippo lol Still got 2 that leak & 1 that's tighter than a ducks arse
Playing around with making some decals. Thought this was kinda neat. Choice of the number obvious to those in the know
Update...I now have fuel going into carbs not the bloomin floor. Mix n match from 3 taps worked on the 27th attempt. Just glad the threads on the tank didn't give up the ghost! To Rocker a Mahoooosive THANKS as your test idea worked on the fan! Yes it now works before the gauge is halfway. Now to find the break in the loom but if I have to run a new wire then so be it! Life`s gonna get in the way now for about a month before I touch it again as work is gonna get crazy so the bike can lay in wait to surprise me with summat else by then Must be a boring life with a new bike that starts n stops n just add fuel
Wor lass popped out to see a friend When she got back I was gone hee hee Took NUDGER out for a few hours as I wanted to get 1000mls on the clock FAILED now showing 989mls This is in Stanhope popped over to Hartside Must’ve been a hell of a fire Talking to the owner and she says it’s gonna get rebuilt but not this year pulled over for a smoke on the way home and two of these pretendy biker things pulled in behind me and NUDGER one of them had a puncture and none of us had a repair kit So me and NUDGER had a little giggle and left them to it
My body clock does not understand Saturdays and always wakes me up as if it was a weekday - dammit. Could not get back to sleep so headed out to the south coast, which was a nice two hour ride along empty (at that time of day) roads, for Breakfast on the seafront on Hayling Island. From my seat by the window I could see everyone stopping to have an admiring look at Hugh parked outside, which always makes me smile. Shame the traffic was pants by the time I was half way home but it was a good morning out on balance.
Went out with Nick Hall for a 150 mile 'scouting' ride through Beds, Northants, Leics, Lincs and Rutland border land checking out potential route for a forum bunkhouse meet down our way e.g. Revensden Bunkhouse. Some cracking traffic free roads.
Went to not so sunny hunny today but quite a few bikes on parade. First picture is my bonny in the rain. Second picture is grandaughter sitting on my bike a few days ago in the sun. Two hours after that picture was taken she fell of a swing and broke her arm. Ten years old but got to give her a big up because on the way to hospital all she kept on singing was Always look on the bright side of life.
Tuesday evening went over to The Churchill Arms bike night at Alderholt in Dorset. Some decent old bikes there, including a good few Triumphs. Quite like this Harley Scrambler Saturday went over to Compton Abbas airfield. PT - 17 Stearman - you can get flights in this, might have to give that a go!
The 30th Fenman classic held at Wimbotsham near Downham Market is on the 27th bank holiday Monday. 1000s of bikes and a great day if the weather is OK.
Only one pub in the village seving the hordes and it must be the best payday for them of the year. Great bunch of guys run it and at the end of the day everwhere is left spic and span, not even a ciggie butt left laying around. £1000s raised for charity.
Got a free replacement for the previous faulty unit, which I didn't have to return. Excellent customer service from China!
