^ looks pretty much exactly as the place where I bought mine from  only more triumphs. Is that Honda in the back an RC51 VTR? Man I wish I could ride one of those but no chance with these wrists... otherwise I might have bought the one the guy had instead of my Daytona... a 90 degree 1000cc V2 in a street bike... porn...
Well it is for sale ..... HONDA SP1 FIRST EDITION 2000 CLASSIC V TWIN. RC51 | eBay Actually think they are a terrible bike for anything apart from the track as they have a 90 mile tank range and they have the worst throttle response known to man (on or off) Actually if you wanted something fast would rather have this one. 146bhp at the back wheel. TRIUMPH DAYTONA 1244 BOL DOR.MCN TEST BIKE. MILESTONE BIKE. | eBay
Bought and assembled new front and rear paddock stands. Just over £70 for the pair. Seem pretty sturdy and I'm impressed with the quality. Far lighter and more suitable to my bike than the old oxford pair I had.
SteveJ: I didn`t say it would be practical or a good touring bike, I said it would be SEXY! Two guys I know have had SP1 VTR:s and both said they go through a rear tire every season in normal riding cause the torque curve is just impossible in trafffic. 146hp? Isn`t that what the 955i Daytona puts out? Or is that the engine HP output? Figures do no matter to me, still puts out a scary amount of go IMO. Think the triple mug engine will combine nicely the best parts on an inline and a V-engine. Sure as heck sounds funny as I`m so used to my 600cc CBR F2.
No the 955i is about 138bhp at the crank, this bike is about 168bhp at the crank!!! not bad for 1992!! Actually 100bhp is enough to have loads of fun on  And with regards to the VTR they are a nice looking bike but I really couldn't live with this sort of bike any more apart from using one solely as a track bike.
Been turning bits black - Air filter grill, battery strap, Speedo back, tank panel, front indicator backs (sissy bar, luggage rack and pannier brackets - not on bike) Just got black luggage rack for pillion spot.
Twisted my back at work today and when I was riding home the bike stalled at a junction and I couldn't hold the dam thing up but managed to get away with a broken front indicator and a slight scratch to the corner of the exhaust so was very lucky. Oh well at least it's the weekend
Had a thrash around Oulton with MSV yesterday.... Totally different experience from last years effort with No Limits - very professional, and tightly managed. Not a completely problem free day though - rear puncture 2 miles from the circuit had me finish the ride out at 20mph, snaking around on the carcass and so worried I might damage the rim that the £185 for a replacement tyre on arrival came almost as a relief when told the rim was fine! Track day tyre man reckons the Metzeller Racetechs fitted as standard are the best thing for road and track, and luckily he had some with him - think I've got them scrubbed in OK... Paid £25 to be accompanied by an instructor on one of my sessions - to be told my lines were fine but I wouldn't improve until I started to move myself around the bike. (I guess my style was probably more suited to the upcoming 'Distinguished Gentleman's Ride' later this month!) So spent the afternoon sessions practicing getting my bum off the the seat a little - got passed a lot more but worth it I think as it meant I was actually learning something new - and by the end of the day it was even beginning to feel 'right'. A great day - not cheap, but well worth it - and the glorious weather a well appreciated bonus!
So far:- 1.Powder coated/painted = Headlight back, front indicator backs and mounts, instrument back, tank panel, fuel cap, battery strap, cheese graters, fender struts (sissy bar and rack-not on bike) 2. Single seat and pillion rack 3. Clear indicator lenses and amber bulbs 4. Oil filler gauge 5. LED upgrade on idiot lights and instrument panels 6. Black slash cut pipes 7. Tool roll Oh what's next?
Just got this in the post today!! Answers on a back of a postcard if you know what it is?
Getting it dirty! It was spotless (almost) but decided to take it this morning anyway despite the weather - can always clean it again.

Did 800 miles on the Sprint Sports over the weekend as went up to a friends in Cumbria and then to the Hercules Rally on Sunday at Jamie Whitham's place in Huddersfield on Sunday and back home. Bike was brilliant. Spoke to Jamie who is a brilliant bloke (even though he has an unhealthy interest in two strokes and did call me Australian ) and had a good look round his bikes. Great roads up through Saddleworth Moor and in and around Huddersfield way.
Well Friday was exciting. I took the day off for a ride out with a mate on his Harley.... I was at the National heritage exhibition museum Birmingham looking at old British iron. ....when all of sudden this bloke runs through the museum in a shirt and tie carrying a satchel being chased by a copper and dog. He ducked into the toilet only for the copper to kick it off it's hinges. They dragged him outside.... Crim..... Could have used this baby but I couldn't find any ammo.
