Hi all. I've got a Daytona. Until recently it was running fine. I changed the sump cause the last owner had put a screwdriver through the oil can but hadn't stopped there. Managed to pierce the sump and had araldited it. In order to do that also removed the right hand down pipe. All of a sudden it sounds very rattley in the can and sounds really rough and the torque has dropped. Could it be the silencer causing issues. I know it needs remapping if you put a different can on. When riding I now have to give some Welly whilst pulling away and still it tries to stall. But top end only a small reduction in power.
Which Daytona? Have you checked for a blow at the right hand down pipe? Best advice is retrace your steps. Sounds like a gap or leak is off setting your throttle responses? Did you replace the gasket? Feel the length of the exhaust, when running, for a blow.
Hi. I've taken all 3 off and replaced all gaskets. Guy at the garage had a quick listen and doesn't think they are leaking. But agrees that she definitely sounds sick. They silencer rattles and appears that that where the kinda hollow noise is. I had smeared lots of oil onto the down pipes like you do. When it was running it smoked well when it heated up but didn't appear to get disturbed by any blowing pipes.
Yahoo. My daughter was talking to a lady biker from down under. I'm ex-RAF and I got to thinking about the Australian Air Force and tool kit. Comprising of a GS and a hammer. So I hit it. It worked.
Welcome to the Asylum you should fit right in. To keep the inmates happy we will need photos. Hope it's BLACK Tucker
