Hey Guys Need some advice if possible? I am looking at either getting a 2002 Daytona which has 35.000 Miles in a nice colour, or a 2003 Sprint RS with only 23.000 Miles same price (but in yellow!) So firstly which One would you choose, secondly I have a bad neck/back, and the Triumph dealer in Plymouth has told me I can just get 2 risers which will bolt into place between the yolk and the clip on's already on the bike? I am not a tech head when it comes to this, so is it that easy? 4 bolts, lift them up, drop in the 2 risers blocks, and bolt back together? Any advice will be really appreciated. Thanks :smile: Dan
Quick Update looking at the bike pics again, I think its going to be more of a job then I first thought! as if I left the bars up, there wont be enough room to fit the bars back on with the block risers? (Pic attached) Dan
How much they want for the bikes? Depends on how much you you need to lift the bars. another way around this would be to use a T509 Speed Triple top yoke and bars as long as you can clear the faring. Cheers Stephen
the riser blocks are only about an inch or so. I am in another forum where most of the guys with sprints have fitted them to increase the comfort level. Some have had to undo the fork clamps and drop the yokes down 5 mm or so but not all so I guess it depends on how yours are set up originally. I had a set of these on my 998 Sprint and they do work, but I did not like the angle of the bars so bought a converter for standard tubular bars. I would say as you have a bad neck and back, the daytona probably is not for you tbh

I have opted on the Daytona simply as I liked the look more, so I guess the question changes to how to raise the Daytona bars a little lol, I have noticed that you cant lift them too far due to the fairing, but even half inch would help, my neck/back issue's are not extream, but made riding my Ducati 1000ss a pain! saying that from what I saw today the Daytona is not as low as the Ducati, so hope I haven't made a balls up buying the Daytona? The picture here is the Daytona I went to see today, but not the One I have purchased (waiting for delivery) it has had a lift of the bars, and suited me really well, so can you tell what was done? and where can I get what ever was done here for mine? is it an easy job to fit, or a garage job? (I have little tools, and even less knowledge)
If you have a bad back and neck I have to give you a reality check........are you mad? Any sports bike will give you grief even if you fit risers, you will be conned by any dealer giving you advice that differs from mine. i too have a bad back and have suffered for 30+ years so take it from me look at a Tiger, the suspension is far netter and on British roads a well ridden adventure bike can keep up with nearly all sports bikes. If you have to have a sports then an ST with risers will be better but even then your will have a lot of weight on your forearms, I had an ST for six years, great bike great engine.
Thanks ColLamb But the ST or the Tiger is not for me, as I said the back/neck issue is not extream and when I sat on the Blue Daytona (which has risers) the position was comfy for me, The Ducati is IMHO far lower on the bars, and thats just too much for me, but I believe the Daytona with risers will be OK. Essentially I used to get a sore neck after riding even 20 Miles on the Ducati, simply due to having to look up from the low bars to see down the road, so if I can raise the bars on the Daytona a bit, should be ok for me. So still looking for anyone to advice on where to get the set up on the picture above, costs, and work involved? Thanks for the replies so far guys

Hi Dave I actually saw that, and tried to put the link on here, but its waiting for the "Moderator" to allow it lol. Yeah seems like a nice cheap fix, I asked the guy who is selling me the bike if he can do it prior to delivery of the bike, but he told me the bars already go "out and up" so maybe somebody already did it? If not then I will take it to my local garage and ask them to do the swap, I just done have the tools to do it myself ;-)
Well after a couple of days of looking at various vids, I have found SpeedyMoto could be the ones for me, but cant seem to find a UK supplier? any ideas???
UPDATE I found a UK company called TopYokes Home - Cool n Comfy: Superbike performance - Touring comfort. They do a nice kit for around 135.00 GBP for the Daytona, but looks like I need to source the actual bars myself, so can anyone advice on the rise? I would guess a Medium would be fine, but thats around 85mm so I am unsure how far we can raise the Daytona riding position without getting fairing issue's. Cheers
Have you looked at sprint mfg http://www.triumphparts.gbr.cc they do an adapter plate for normal type bars for £119 and they have adjustable clip ons for the daytona too,may be worth a look, and they are a good company to deal with too. I have used them many times and they will help you if you need advice. sorry cant help with the fairing issue question but you may have issues with the length of the cables,I dont know. My Sprint just got away with it ( I have a diff type of adapter with tubular renthal superbike low bars) but my throttle cable was a bit of a tight run,ended up buying a trophy cable which is longer
