Cleaned chain, then fixed the Scottoiler, which I didnt fill before I left, so, @andypandy kept me lubricated all week, big thank you, Andy.
Washed the bike twice then went over it detailing.
Someone could make a fortune by opening a jet wash in West Scotland as there doesnt seem to be one.
Dismantled rear end to access rear light which now works completely, so good news all round!

Two new tyres, got Pirelli GT Angels as I couldn't get the Michelin road 5 plus the Pirelli GT are very good for motorway/distance driving (I commute a lot)
The Michelin Road 4 tyres that came off had done 12,000 miles and still had plenty of tread on the side but the centre on the rear had squared off too far to be safe
Replaced front brake pads and gave the calipers and pots a good clean out (covered about 10,000 miles)
Replaced chain and sprockets for JT sprockets and DID ZVMX gold chain - chain for cosmetic improvement and front sprocket went down a tooth
Also took the concentric hub apart out as it was seized, a good clean up and dose of grease. Also dolloped a load of bearing grease on the needle bearing.

I am a bit worried about the front wheel as there is a 2 to 3mm gap along the spindle between the spacer and fork on the right side as you sit in the bike so the wheel is technically able to slide left and right!!!
I can close the gap up by squeezing the forks together before I tighten the pinch bolts but then there is pressure loaded up laterally!

intended to ride out to Metheringham airfield museum .
wheeling bike out sounds like tyre rubbing ? rear tyre rubbing on centre stand , new avon am26s must be wider than metzlers , stand off , gring out depression to clear tyre then weld in strengthening plate flush with cutout , yah no more squeek.
But now prepping food for BBQ , so ride out sometime this week her indoors permitting!!

I knew we had a member from Penicuik, just couldn't remember who.
I rode through your town last sunday on my way from Moffat to just outside Edinburgh to meet up with Lexy before we rode up to Tyndrum for the Scottish Forum Rideout. You have quite a nice town there.

Dusted the highland 'stoor' off the street twin, gave it a good wash down, ready for the next trip....on Thursday.Mrs and I are off to Islay for the music and whisky fest until Monday.I fitted a scottoiler before the Scotland trip, and I have been keeping an eye on it,but the reservoir still appears to be full.Mid week I lubed the chain, courtesy of Andypandy. What is the problem... apart from me
