I read on a coulple of forums that oe tyres that come fitted to a new bike are not the same as the ones you buy yourself. what I mean is the original super corsa's that are fitted to my speed triple have a different compound to the ones you buy, there built to a price and not as good anyone no if this is true or not.

Long standing rumour but if it was true then the bike and tyre manufacturers are opening themselves up to a law suit.
Frankly I can’t see it being true for that reason but also why would they have more than one production line for each tyre they supplied to a bike manufacturer?
Doesn’t make sense logistically or financially to me

Dunlop used to produce different spec tyres with same name. Those fitted oe were different rubber and made in chinky chonk factory somewhere. Not the same as you would buy over the counter in Western Europe.
