    An abiding happy memory is attending a fancy dress party with my mate, Dave, who went as a bumble bee. There was a very attractive Little Weed, accompanied by Bill & Ben, boyfriend and brother of Little Weed. Dave began bothering LW, repeatedly offering to pollinate her (he was a smooth talker) but this seriously upset Bill & Ben and Dave offered them outside for a discussion. I had the hysterical task of keeping them apart as they attempted to overcome their short arms and plantpots and large fuzzy belly.

    What about a mars bar that was 10p and was more than 4 inches. 1/2 penny sweets - coming home from school to watch television and then mum calls " teas on the table"

    We had Camp 'coffee' too, just in case the real stuff ran out. I'm pretty sure the Camp would have been sitting on the shelf since the War when real coffee was black market only. Weird thing I quite liked the chicory ' substitute.
