Pidcocks Nottingham have invited me along so I may go and eat some of their free food and maybe take something different out like a cruiser

Try a Thunderbird LT. The most enjoyable bike I've ridden for years  Pity it's so expensive :frown:

Took out an Explorer then a Thunderbird LT, enjoyed both rides but for different reasons, was slightly intimidated by the LT due to the sheer size of both it and its engine plus I 'd never ridden a cruiser or any bike with footboards but I came back smiling like a loon......

Well I had a slightly different experience, on the way to my Nottingham dealer on my 800 mile old Tiger 800XC I stopped for petrol and the bike then wouldn't start. (no I had not filled it with Diesel) tried again and it fired up but was rough and would not tick over at all and stalled at every junction, limped to the dealers and their service guys spent two hours trying to fix it...... no joy and now awaiting throttle position sensor and stepper motor.

While I was there I did take out a Street Triple R and what a fun bike that is to ride, lightweight, handling and the noise it makes is just amazing, pity I'm too big to be comfortable on it.

After refusing to ride my malfunctioning bike home then returning it when the parts arrived (a little surprised they asked the question) I got offered a Bonneville loan bike which didn't impress much (sorry all you Bonnie owners) but after a little negotiation the dealer has given me their Tiger XC 800 demo to use until my bike is fixed which considering it was their demo open day, did impress me.

Lets hope my Tiger is fixed soon and that this is just an isolated problem.

Not good Richard, sounds like the dealer is trying to get it sorted which is the main thing

Did anyone actually win anything in the draw? I didn't get anything.

I did enjoy riding the Thunderbird Storm, but really don't understand how having foot pegs so far forward can be comfortable?

Also the speedo is really hard to see with a full face helmet, but fantastic engine and impressive handling and really light for a big bike.

Should have really had a crack at the new Daytona .... Next time maybe

Yes, those pegs make the TB an uncomfortable proposition unless you have exceptionally long legs! Footboards transform it though. You should try the LT next time

You're also right about the speedo.. Form over function..........
