Bloody annoying, I've spent £200 on tickets and we've got people coming to stay, (we live 20 minutes from the circuit), who booked the time off. At least they seem to be on the ball getting refunds to people and trying to sort stuff out. Oh well, we'll keep fingers crossed for next year.

This seems to be the official line - just didn't leave themselves enough time to get everything in place.

"The first Eppynt Welsh Road Races, which were scheduled to take place in the Brecon Beacons in August, have been ‘postponed’ after the organisers conceded that they needed more time to turn the dream into reality."

The much vaunted event was launched publicly at November’s Motorcycle Live show and was expected to take place over the weekend of 4-5 August. Organisers say that recent changes to the road traffic act in Wales require them to get new permits for the event to go ahead, and that this was not likely to be feasible in the new time frames. With that in mind, they have made the decision to refund all ticket sales and work towards launching the event in 2019.

“We are working closely with the ACU, Crown Properties and Powys County Council to organise the Welsh Road Race, and under the new changes in legislation, the new deadlines that have been imposed will make it very difficult to carry out a safe and successful event’, said Derek Smith, Managing Director of the Welsh Road Race. “ The board of directors are absolutely devastated, for all the supporters and all concerned with the event. We have began steps to contact all our supporters and sponsors who are involved in the event.”

Wouldn't surprise me if it never happened. Like the circuit of wales, I said from day one, it would never happen. Seen and heard it all afore, unfortunately.

Back in 2012, the idea of the Race of the Reivers was conceived,to be staged in and around Jedburgh.I remember going down for an 'open day' weekend meet which gave a people an insight to what is was all about and to recruit local businessmen as sponsors........very promising, then never heard anymore about it.I guess it was put down by the farming community (maybe not a big enough payoff to stop them using the roads?) for the w/end of the meet.Great shame: unamused:
