    Evening all

So I’ve got an 04 Daytona 600 but it’s not starting, it went to start then nothing. After trying to start again it gave off the ticking type noise you get when the battery is dead. So I charged the battery over night at work, fitted it to the bike this morning and it started so I had it running for a little while. I noticed the dials had gone off so I turned the bike off and when I went to start it again the dials came on as usual but the bike had the same problem as before and wouldn’t start.
I’ve read in a few places that it’s more than likely the regulator rectifier but also heard it’s probably worth changing the stator also and wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction on what parts to get to try eliminate this from happening again.

    Thanks

Did you just buy it? Sounds like the battery, if its screwed ,one cell will charge and it may start only that will be all you get.Wont work after that. Do you have access to another battery?

Yeah I’ve just bought it, I bought it off a lady in her late 40’s and she did mention something about it but she didn’t really know what she was talking about as her knowledge on bikes is quite basic (as is mine) but she mentioned the regulator rectifier so thought I’d ask on here. She did also say that the battery ran totally dead once and it did make me think that would probably of killed the battery off but wasn’t too sure

Aberchirder? I saw the add looks like a top bike.
Sounds like the problem I had last year and it was battery

Yeah it was from Aberchirder, yeah really clean bike especially for being 14 years old. As I said she did tell me about it but I don’t have a scooby about anything mechanical so I was just unsure as to what it maybe. I’ll grt a new battery bought and hopefully that
