Pls take someone with some bike/mechanical knowledge with you. This so soooo important. You will be wooed when you see it, hopefully your assistant will not be so eager. About 10 years ago a good friend of mine spotted an R1 for sale, he asked me to go with him to inspect. Drove all the way to Leeds with a trailor. I pointed out a few concerns with regards to set up & advised him to walk away, but no! We had driven all that way with a trailor, so he was going to buy it. Buy it he did. Bike was sold within 12 months, he never could get on with the suspension set, he tried everything.
I agree totally with Wessa's comment about the postcode. How relevant? My ex boss used to park both his 44 tonners (one of which I was employed to drive) in what used to be a farm yard and is now your back garden (possibly). I'm sure I even have a photo somewhere! Can't be too careful with low life scumbags lurking in dark places. An ex neighbour of ours went on an Easter Egg run a few years ago from the MacIntosh Arms in Goole to Scunthorpe hospital. A few days later his Daytona 650 disappeared along with some other stuff from his garage. Police suspected it was the work of a known Lithuanian gang who would have clocked him during/after the ride. There are some real bastids out there!!! Sorry ..... didn't mean to scare you.
Never even bloody realised the postcode thing I never even knew Autotrader copied it in with the link Thankyou for all the advice guys means a lot. Taking two riders along with me (long serving veterans) they will be holding the cash and making me walk away if needs be I am trying to go with head and not heart but we all know how that ends up. I've told myself and the missus that I can wait for the right bike if needs be and I have been waiting since october but want to get my buy done before spring rolls in and prices creep back up The no mention of service history has made me a little cautious I can agree, at the moment I am falling inlove with the Akro sitting on the bike
