Picking it up... 2011 Speed Tripple R, Launch model in white. In this..... Pictures to come when I have cleaned it
Thanks, I did. The granny on the CB50, shopping basket on the front and locking basket on the back, came round the outside of me at Copped hall roundabout giving me the bird. Might have been riding a bit cautiously.
Finally got out and rode it despite the wind and occasional driving rain, was a good few hours out with the IAM
Is that a stock exhaust Blue Flame or it just where the camera is as the engine noise sounded bloody loud
It's just where the camera is I reckon. I am not overly happy with it's location. I need to think of somewhere else to put it.
Had my Explorer ECU replaced under the Triumph recall. What a difference. The throttle graduation is so much smoother than before making slow speed riding even better. Thanks Triumph
Put the number plate on the Daytona on one of those sell you number plate sites for an valuation and got the price back showing as ....... £1075!!! WTF So would be nice if I got that for it, actually would be happy with less but we will see how it goes.
I took the speedy out for a couple of hours yesterday afternoon, finally on some drying roads. I definitely made the right choice.
Went out on the Daytona yesterday with the intention of having lunch at Loomies Cafe but ended up having to turn around due to road closures because of flooding. So the bike is due a good clean as there was still a hell of a lot of water on the roads down that way.
Only had my beautiful Bonnie for 4 weeks, so had a small window of dry roads and sunshine this morning between, 10am and 2am, so 4 hours on the Bonnie, my lady on the back, riding round Ayr, Prestwick and Troon..... Bliss! Bonnie now covered up, feet up chillin on couch with cold beer and Bonnie's beautiful tones now a fading memory.... And pouring outside!
Dropped my beloved Speed Triple back to Pidcock Triumph, patted it and apologized for selling it. (Speed and power makes way for comfort and longer distances next week when I pick up a new Tiger XC) Pidcock's showroom was absolutely packed with 14 plate bikes all ready to head out next week, one of their salesman has 14 bikes going out on Sat 1st and I have booked a collection spot for 7.30am (watch it be rain/hail/snowing!) Anyway once I had had coffee and stared at the bike porn I picked up my wife's Street Triple which was in being serviced, and had swift (if a little cramped) ride home. Anyone in the Nottingham are looking for a good standard Speed Triple ABS with 7700 miles on........ Its been a great bike no issues apart from a new pair of front Brembo discs fitted under warranty.
After riding from Ayr to Edinburgh yesterday for 1st 500ml service, the Bonnie was manky, so gave her a good clean this morning and the wife and myself went for a wee spin for a couple of hours, good weather, nice to see a few bikes out and about :upyeah:
Took advantage of the break in the weather and had a ride over to the dealers. My wife tried an 800 Tiger but it's to tall and heavy for her(even with the low seat)she did manage to find a lot of standing water though. Think I'll be cleaning today.
At last!!! Got my first proper blast on my Speed today... Took me a while to get used to it - at least 200 yards - then: FFRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAP...Snap.....crackle.......pop... WoooooHoooooooo!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! FFRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAP etc until the gas ran out and I had to fill up and do it all over again... and again... until it was dark and I realised I had hypothermia and had to go home for tea. This was my first full blooded ride on my first ever Triumph triple. Was I doing it right?
