Hi fellas, I need the help of a person whose tech savvy.. I have an mp3 file which is a compilation of various songs and I want to extract one song from the mp3 file. The file itself is 1 hour's worth of songs, but I would like just one song. Any advice on how to extract just one song from the file. I know in iTunes I can set the start and finish of the song, but the actual file size is still the total hour's worth. If anyone would be willing to do this for me, I can email the mp3 file to you. .....I'd be very grateful indeed!! The song is an obscure 80's song and I've spent ages searching online to try to get it individually and I can only find it amongst this compilation mp3 file ....... Many Thanks Dave
i've got a huge collection of songs stored on hard drives if you PM me the name of the song i'll have a look and see if i've got it,if i don't have it i'll have a word with my son when i see him and see if he knows a way to extract one song from an mp3 file
Haven't used it myself, but this might do the trick https://www.lifewire.com/best-free-audio-tools-for-splitting-up-large-files-2438496
You can do this quite easily and there are many free online sites that you can use. Google MP3 cropping or MP3 cutting.
Thanks for the swift replies. I didn't realise that mp3 cropping software was readily available and free. I'll some reading up on the subject. Usually I can find whatever individual song I'm after, but the one has stumped.
Update.. I've did a google search for mp3 cutting / cropping and found an online option where I had to upload my file, edit the seat and finish crop. Success!!! I've now got the song I wanted without all the other songs / file size. Many thanks again for all the replies. Much appreciated. I certainly learned something new today. Thanks again fellas! BTW the song is from 1980 and is called 'New Dawn by a band called The Final Eclipse (I tried to upload it, but got an error message saying the file ws too large to upload) If those who really curious, it's the song that starts at approximately 42.12 in this compilation.......
If you haven’t sorted it yet, Audacity is a good freeware that is easy to use and you can set markers and crop out what you want to save as an independent file.
