    Guys keep seeing this.
Please be aware posting your telephone number on the forum means it is open for every one to see.
The same with post codes , don’t forget in the UK this narrows down your location to a couple of streets.
So if you want to pass on telephone numbers or details of your address do it in a private message.
Not in a forum post or as your status.
Not every one that reads a forum message etc is honest. Remember the forum is open to guests whose details don’t appear or robots that search for those details

Don't forget the photos taken at home or place of storage as well.
It was reported on the forum a while ago that your address can be traced through information gleaned from the photo unless you have set your camera otherwise.

Have they been retrospectively changed as well.
I.e. Any photos prior to Rob's steps.

Yup when you up load an image you are told it is stripped of all external information as a security measure.

However you can never be too careful

There have been thieves and scoundrels since time immemorial, just more hi-tech crime these days.

Botany Bay for stealing a loaf of bread seems like fair justice to me. :p

I took steps to make sure posts had the info stripped out.

Ok been thinking how about making a thread with advice for newbies ( as a sticky ) for things not to do such as telephone numbers and addresses.
Any thoughts on what to include in it ?
We could mention about photos and place stamps and the fact that Rob has taken steps to deal with it.
It’s just anything else ( grey cells have packed in now ) that might need said/warning about.

A very sad fact that the power of the net can be exploited for all the wrong reasons. We all need to be vigilant.

It’s not just that, it’s the fact that most of us don’t think about it Wessa.
I get caught as much as anyone else.
One of the best things I’ve ever bought is a cross shredder any paper with any person details on it that I would just throw in the bin gets shredded.
The cross shredder is better than the normal one as it cuts both across an up/down.
