Hi mate. Had same trouble, got 2 dodgy knees and a new hip. Ride a Thruxton1200. What I done and it works for me. Got l/weight, flat m/cycle boots. Bought a cheap pair of flat shoes. Cut off uppers. Stapled/glued(polyurethane), stick on soles and heels. Built my boots up 1-3/4". Finished off with shop fitted sole and heels, as harder wearing and better grip. Cut out indents for gearshift and break pedal. Had to widen sole and heals. Used sugru from B&Q to build up. Could explain more if you want. Certain things need to do. Downside boots are heavy but are 'walkable' could show photos

I'll post a pic tomorrow as boots at my garage, with more details. You could consider a gel pad instead of foam in your seat, or even memory foam.
I bought Altburg boots a couple of years ago, best ever in the last fifty years and they do bespoke as well, and British made must tick all the boxe?
Pic of my other bike. Street twin. Boots on level ground, I cut away excess heal and sole, but not off sides as I contoured with the Sugru, a flexible rubber glue. Comes in different colours, hence the red and blue. I also used wood screws on the inside. Across the ball of the sole I sliced it to nearly the first glued sole for flexibility.
Just make sure last sole and heel overlaps outside of boot for stability. Contour with sugru. Smooth with finger. Let me know how you get on. On whatsapp. Peter cude.
Not the same pair DD, but I reckon you're right. Two horizontal red stripes on the sole on the original pic, and only one stripe on your pic ???
Well I wore to Newlands corner and I don't give a fuck. It was either wear these or sell my Thruxton. No contest.
Let's get this straight. Tucker asked for help. I gave him a 'way' that worked for me. Now all the inane and unfunny comments are not befitting of grown men, childish humour more like, and is very irritating! I had a 'height' problem and got over it the best way I could, without altering the bike that would affect resale.i thought this forum was meant to be helpful.
This forum is great for good advice and also a bit of friendly banter and general pisstaking. Don't take it too personal Peter, you've got round a problem with your boots and been more than open with your help and advice. You never know Alpinestars may be in touch.
