one time....my mate bought a 650 Bonneville from a garage forecourt for £30.....( late 60's )..it wasn't running, so I fixed it for him and rode it back along the A11 .....long hair flying out behind me and flares flapping in the breeze
and then one time in Cornwall , another mate let me have a go on another bonnie, with ape hangers and forward pegs....I hated the riding position.......now after 53 years of owning and riding bikes, I've bought a Triumph for myself for the first time.....and I have to say, I've always fancied the modern Trident..so now I've got one......

At the risk of sounding just a wee bit critical, Mr. Stitchwort, it fookin' well took you long enough to get your Trident didn't it?!! They've been available since 1991 you know! I admit it took me until 1995 to discover their delights though. Never looked back since and I predict that you will be smitten by the bloody thing as well. They do that to you if you're not careful.
Well done, Sir.:) Welcome to the surreal world that is thetriumphforum. Enjoy!:D

ok....thanks for the comments....I've used some carb cleaner.......covered about 100 miles ......truro to Dartmoor.....and back...and it's still the same.....I have a theory.....no choke, no throttle it will almost start providing I don't keep my thumb on the starter...choke or throttle it won't start....keep my thumb on the starter , it will fire but not run....so....I think the battery has enough power to turn it over but not enough to spark a rich plug.....I'm going to try and find a powerful battery to put in
