I've got a 'sales' shitter honda varadero 125 that's a clean bike but stood 6yrs and carbs were full of green jelly must have been lime flavour!! Can't get the carbs to fuel it properly after much cleaning out. Part of the problem is I borrowed a sonic cleaner that would just hold the area of a small bell end and if you can imagine that I've had one carb in at a time and rotating like a pig on a spit. Well it just ain't running reight. Anyone fancy a little fixing challenge for me near me in Huddersfield, I expect to pay?
Although I might have sold the bike as is on a verbal but money and guy not here as yet so it's plan 402/B now.

No your right Jez, but previous owner left it for years in storage and old petrol shagged it!

Fill the float bowl with Redex, or similar, and let it soak for a couple of days. It might just soften/clean out whatever is lurking inside. Just be careful you don't create a hydraulic lock inside the cylinder - I would guess that whatever cleaner you use will have a greater tendency to remain liquid than petrol does.

The above reply may contain gibberish. Just saying!

Wish they got to that stage, just not letting enough fuel through.

Another possibility is that a gasket or O ring deteriorated, and a bit of it is stuck somewhere in the carb’s guts. I suppose a total disassembly would be a last resort. I’ll bet finding a replacement on eBay would be cheaper.

    Ok progress report>>>>>
Shitter is now running and ticks over. So far so good! I boiled the poor little carbs like a pair of cabbages in lemon juice in the best soup pot, not sure what I thought of the smell, it was partly hmm tasty but with a mechanical after taste in the air. Of course the wife smelt it differently...........,.,
    Next challenge, it’s the tank.....
So, I daren’t use it until it’s spotless as it was such a twat to build up the carbs (5th time an’all) I really don’t want shite going back in. So what’s best method for cleaning it out and before anyone says ACID it’s NOT rusty??!
