Hi, thanks. The stands look great but there is so little access at the back of the T100 with the silencers that I am not sure that it would work for it.
To be honest, if you can afford it just get the proper triumph centrestand and forget paddock stands. You'll probably end up spending almost as much on two of them anyhow and the centrestand just can't be beaten for ease of use. Storing paddock stands is a faff, i know, i have them hanging all over the garage outside! Go to your local dealer and try to blag a deal. You might be surprised. Dont ask dont get.......
Totally agree, fit a centre stand, it's always on the bike, I wouldn't be without one. Try TEC I believe they were doing the centre stands for under £100 I also bought a fantastic motor cycle jack for £35 if I want a higher lift for any maintenance jobs.
You're probably right DD, I never would have spent £180ish, I would have got one 2nd hand or made one. I have never spent as much brass in my life in such a short time maintaining and upgrading a bike plus having to buy all the biking gear from scratch. It's keeping a poor man poorer! lol
Poor car which I bought brand new 13 years ago and has never once let me down in 214k miles is being totally neglected, to the point where I've just had a bollocking from my wife for bringing the neighbourhood into disrepute for not washing it. The fact that I'm not using the car didn't get me off the hook. Must admit I'm loving having a bike again, much much more than I could have imagined, New tyres is the next job for May, still got 0.62mm of tread to go at yet. (Measured with digital depth micrometers to make sure I get full wear out of them)
Yes it does seem strange, I had to double check but the law states 1.0mm minimum so that is what I am planning to change them at.
I hear you. When I spoke with the dealer this week they were asking £200 for centre stand. It feels like a con to remove it as standard, not even offer it as an option on buying the bike then find a distinct shortage of alternatives after the event. Will stick in my craw if I don't get a cheaper alternative 8-}
I have now bitten the bullet and ordered the centre-stand from Triumph (and told them not a happy bunny about it). The stand seems to be different for the latest T100 so am very wary of chancing those on ebay. Sigh! On the bright side absolutely loving riding the bike.
how you getting on with the centre stand ? Read somewhere else on the forum that the stand didnt actually raise the bike off the ground ! Thinking of getting one but now in two minds !
2012 Bonnie 17" cast wheels. The OEM centre stand has the rear wheel off the floor by ~1.5" The weight is biased onto the front wheel
The 'spokies' are 19" wheels and I have seen a few recent posts where the rear wheel has not cleared the floor which defeats the object of the centre stand for me.
I had a T100 (with 19" spoke wheels) which had a centre stand fitted and had no problem with the back wheel clearing the floor. My SE has one fitted and sometimes the back wheel does sticks on the floor - it just depends on small level changes on the drive.
My 2013 T100 has a centre stand and both wheels (just about) clear the floor, the bike is nose heavy with both wheels in place. Very useful fitting. Didn't realise how useful they were until I got involved with Sportsters..
had the stand fitted the other week along with my first service- can confirm it clears the ground by around 2cm ! More than enough to spin wheel around for maintenance -
