Hi, my t/bird 900 was fine then one day wouldn't start.
It has a new battery and full charge, the coils read out as spec' but there is power to all coils all the time - is that right ? nothing making a spark though, could it be the ignition trigger coil wet, or no air gap - or just knackered ?

    thanks

Sounds like a side stand cut out switch problem, try isolating it

or check the CDI box on the side of the battery to see if the connection isn't loose.

    Hi, thanks.
Both clutch switch and side stand switch appear to be stuck in the closed position so passing current all the time. Engine turns over but no spark. Have checked the ignition trigger coil resistance which is OK and the air gap is OK too. Completely lost !!

I remember hearing about some issue with a sensor. I will look back and find it. I think this is your problem

I remember someone had an issue that sounded like yours and I was talking to a guy in the Triumph workshop in Dublin about it, he told me that these fail sometimes .

So why is it we lose confidence so easily. If I look back to my first post I suspected the trigger or pickup coil. Thankfully you thought the same and I ordered one. I fitted it tonight and she started first try.

    Many thanks and best wishes
