Hmm - Was sceptical when I read the words "will trick" in the description. Not the words of a professional ad copy writer imo. Remember those ceramic magnets being sold a few years ago. You strapped them to your fuel pipe and they allegedly polarised the fuel molecules to give a 20% performance increase. Cynical? Me?
My understanding is that this device allows you to bypass the existing air temperature sensor, which is located inside the airbox, and relocate a new sensor (the probe part of the plug in device) in a position within the open air. The principle is that the existing sensor, being protected within the airbox does not read the outside temperature correctly (it's protected so thinks it's warmer than it actually is) and adjusts the mixture accordingly. By relocating the sensor to a place where it reads the real outdoor temperature, which will be cooler, then it will adjust the mixture ie. richen it slightly to compensate for the colder reading. So, you get a slightly richer mix than you would, which should help to eliminate the low speed snatchiness, improve throttle response and (probably very slightly) improve performance. Not really trickery - just allowing a part to do it's job properly.

Hi johnT, thanks for the reply on the other thread BTW. I've just ordered one a moment ago. I read the article and a few dozen of those testimonials and there must be something in this. I like the idea it involves no cutting/ bodging at all! The 120 is super smooth anyway so can it be even better? Worth a go i reckon. There's a similar mod done to Hayabusas. Basically moving the AIT sensor to one of the ram air intakes to make sure it got cooler air temps than the original position where the air was a lot hotter. No need to buy anything other than a little bit of wire to extend it.
Piece of p**s to fit, little units tucked in by air box, ran the sensor cable down the rear light harness wire and cable tied the sensor on the end of the frame tubes so in fresh air but out of sight Not ridden yet but it seems to pick up better on a blip of the throttle (the non sticking type ) Time will tell
Second that. Mine arrived this morning & was a doddle to fit. Not had opportunity to ride it yet. Postage was super quick considering it came from Denmark.
First try out Very definite improvement at lower revs pulling much better Possibly better up the revs too Recommended
I assume that with this mod the fuel consumption is going to increase? Any figures for that from either the vendor or those that have fitted this?
I had a booster plug fitted to a BMW R1150 GS a few years back. It smoothed it out beautifully at low revs and it pulled cleanly away from start...unlike the standard one.
