As you may have seen from my newbie message I have had a problem with mt Tiger already with the clutch is this a known issue or just mine :frown:
Hi John & welcome to the forum - what year is your Tiger and how many miles has it done? Also do you know if it was a demo bike for a dealer.
it is an 09 and it only had 1previous owner not a demo bike all papers and service records 6895 on the clock
So the manufacturers warranty is definitely out then - have the dealers said if they will cover it? Also did it feel ok on the test ride? Lots of questions but once everyone has the lowdown someone may shed some light on it. I'm no expert but I think its the same unit as in the Speed and no ones reported any issues on here that I'm aware of? Under 7k on the clock doesn't seem much for a clutch to go? unless the last owner was Kevin Carmichael! Best of luck fella and I hope the dealer sorts it. keep us posted...
As mentioned the gear box can be a little clunky on the 1050 but clutches can go at any time depending on the owner/s if they had a tendency to slip the clutch a lot then that maybe why it has failed? When the garage does the warranty find out why it had gone and the possible cause?
Wigan yam gave 3 moth parts and labour warranty so it all covered the even gave me a bike to run round on while mine is being fixed no news as yet on what caused it the clutch on my Suzuki vstrom was 40 k and still working nicely Mr H it was a bit stiff on test ride put it down to standing in shop for a few weeks been in touch plates were burnt by previous owner don't know what the circumstances were they said it will be back in my possession on Friday will give me time to put some mileage on this little F diversion 600 13 plate nice bike for a newby rider
Pleased its all worked out (and foc!) Enjoy the bike when you get it back - I must say its nice when a dealer gives you a bike or a car to use while ones own is in for work. mind you the last time that happened I bought the one they lent me...(car)
its all done new plates and springs clutch cable jammed keeping the clutch engaged and burning out the plates
