Hello All - first trumpet ever, after lots of Jap stuff over the years. Funnily enough, have noticed some talk re. chain adjustment - mine came with a loose chain - will soon discover the delights of single sided chain adjustment. Links on this site are really helpful already.
Have noticed there ain't too much aftermarket stuff around - has anybody had any luck with taller screens/crash bars/bobbins - I've got one of the very last gen. 2's.
    Dankershurn - Andy.

Jesus wept - they don't make the single sided chain adjustment easy - do they. All that to find out ita a tight/loose/tight/loose job and will need replacing in any case - sprockets look good though ( I know I should replace the whole lot ).
Compared to double sided it's a design fault - can see forum wisdom points to removing the sprocket carrier.
    Lesson number 1 learned.

A month and a half into ownership - here's a few thoughts. Great engine on the motorway - low speed fuelling not the best - front brake not the best.
Had a break down - no battery charge ( new battery ) suspect reg/rectifier but will check, despite probs. is really growing on me.

HNY all - nearly up to 18 months with the RS - it's been bloody marvellous after the initial charging probs.- absolutely love it ( apart from the plastic tank ).
Getting well over 50 mpg, but will need to service the rear hub soon after I fit a centre stand.
On another issue, I'm renovating a Z650 B1 and the loom's a shambles - can anyone recommend someone near Gloucester whose good with wiring d

Thats really kind of you Sir. I have a Haynes but the original would be nice - there's a story to this Z and it's turning into a can of worms. Have replaced the starter clutch but have little or no compression on number 2. Have the head off and will shortly be removing and inspecting all valves and replacing oil seals. Cylinders and rings look OK. Play in the headstock bearing - melting main 20amp fuse immediately etc. etc. It's a steep learning curve for me but it is what I bought it for I guess. Thank God for the Triumph - the only prob. with that is a permanent low fuel light which is likely to be a minor sender issue.

To be honest mate - I havent exactly lavished it with TLC - I really need to get round to flushing the cooling sysstem, changing fluids , servicing brake calipers, checking clearances etc as well as servicing the hub ( single sided ) - before the Summer for sure, but have always ridden through the Winters.
