Just bought Tiger XRT to drive around the South of France.

Looking for some tips on connecting an iPhone to the SatNav post and charger. Also any comments about the Oxford Solar Panel battery charger.

Try twisty ride Paul, they do some really good iPhone covers, waterproof, I have just spent a week away and that was all I needed, gave me directions and music via bluetooth and fitted a USB charger to the bars.

    Enjoy your trip.

    Welcome to the forum Paul.
South of France will be great, loads of bikers down there.
From memory I do not think the solar chargers got such a good report on the forum due to insufficient charging power.
My bike is parked outside and I was tempted to get one for the smart charger but was put off.

Hi Paul and welcome to the Triumph Asylum.

Re the (bike?) battery charging situation can I just ask, if you're going to be in the south of France and it's warmth what makes you feel like you'll need a battery charger - unless of course you're going to park up your for extended periods.

I'm in central France and my Tiger needs no supplementary battery charging from spring through to the end of Autumn. I only put her on charge (between rides) through the colder weather. I use an Aldi intelligent charger (£13) and that works great.

Thanks. Well as I will keep it down there and there is a lot of sun I shall try it and see. On my current bike I take the battery out which is a pain.

Don't fall into the South of France clique of riding round in flip flops, shorts and tee shirt.
Just returned and the number of bikers you see dressed like that on all size bikes/scooters is unbelievable.
Probably worth trying a solar powered charger if you're planning to keep your bike down there, but as biglad says, it's only the real cold months that it should need a boost.

Thanks. Bought the summer armour wrapped in a string vest. Really cool even in 30 plus.
