Hi everyone, I'm gona need some tyres soon and I really want some whitewalls. I have a 2010 efi America with the 18" front wheel. Anybody got white walls of that size, currently 110/90/18 on the front as I'm struggling to find anything? Surely something is available? Cheers Dave
Not easy !!! I did look at going for whitewalls, as I do like the look. Had them on my 1959 Hillman Minx and they looked great, but not for too long as the white doesn't cope well with the British climate. Maybe in year round American sunshine they last, but a muddy day splashing through puddles soon had them looking shabby. I found that to get whitewalls I would have to compromise on tyre ability, so instead went with a tyre better able to handle the weather and my riding style. I think just finding a matching pair of good tyres (I hate oe metz marathos) is hard enough with the 18" front, sure someone on here had to contact Avon and get them to recommend a pairing. Good luck trying to find them, I tried and gave up (16" front on my later 2013 America).
