non starter

    hello chaps well where do I start bike would run for about 10/15 mills then stop done crank sensor new tube cleaned petrol tank new kit for petrol tap tested ok started her up tick over for 5 min just stopped tested spark plugs but no spark its a trophy 1200 m reg any other reason for that fed up just want to go for nice ride on my new bike ? thanks gary

    You check main fuse... Only saying that as my old commuter stopped working.. I just left it and then gave it to the brother in law... It's the main fuse... A 2minute fix for him and I felt a plonker...

    with the main fuse gone would you get ignition lights and everything else working will try any way thanks gary

    Hello Gary could be kill switch or side stand switch just jump wire across to by pass them worth ago

    hi mate could be an electrical prob along the lines of spark plug leads or ignition coils, intermittant when gets hot,try looking could have got corroded by the damp / wet weather,hope this helps.

    I hope you are right but dont count your chickens.... Im experiencing gremlins with my America at present, started her up today & all was good, running sweet but once she warmed up the misfire returned again & dropped down to one cylinder.

    I guess im just going to have to spend some serious time & probably money on getting it back to good health. I think my problem is either one of the coils or the cdi unit :-/

    that's it. went out on the bike done about 25 miles. the same shit started took me nearly 2hrs to get home that was only 3 miles away start run for about 100 yrds then cuts out waited 4/5 mins to start again its now in the hands of a mechanic who was unsure wot it was him self ? not a happy bunny ?

    Have you checked the fuel filter I have a friend who has a Daytona 750 and when the bike heated up it would miss and cut out and would not start until it had cooled down.

    Might be worth a look anyway.
