    Mr H

Interesting reading your story about speed and blade and how you arrived back.

I owned a gen 1 fazer thou for 8 yrs, decided it a keeper and a great bike it was, fast, comfy and good for taking wife.

Then the sport bike bug bit again, a 2007 gixxer thou found its way into the shed along side the fazer. All was well only never rode the fazer. Had my fun on the gixxer and realised once more that, I was either going to get locked up or mess up.

So the gixxer went. So back to riding the fazer but it just felt wrong. A hard decision was made once a good deal on my speed came up.

The speed is the best compromise, it handles as good as the gixxer, has more than enough power and is great two up.

I'm glad I made the decision and the wife is happy.

Shame winter is coming, haven't done any serious riding on it yet. Plenty of mods to come though to keep me busy though.

I'm surprised the lack of fairing does not bother me, the windblast a reminder we are going too quick anyway, the speed is fun even at slow speed.

The look of the bike I love and feel proud to own a British bike.

Good luck to you with your new speed.

    Jacko

The last time I took a pillion on a sports bike was on a gixxer 750, the missus was not happy above 70mph and I had to keep stopping , as I could not feel my hands. Numb fingers and operating clutch and brake not good.

Best bit was only went to Matlock some 20 miles away, that's why I swapped to the fazer thou. Managed over 350miles in a day 2 up on that bike.

Full on sports bikes, I've decided are rider only and for track days, can't see the point on the road.

That's my take on it . If i could afford 2 bikes again and trackdays then another gixxer thou or R1 would be in my shed.

I have heard though that blades aren't too bad 2 up.

Glad you have got the speed back, I've just sorned the blade, thoughts are if any winter riding is to be done then it's on the speed, although still got those Pirelli corsa,s on !

Why on earth did triumph put track day tyres as standard fitment on a road bike?

    Mine has metzeler racetecs on.

Don't fancy a spin on mine with these in the damp and lower temperatures.

Are the PR3's good in the dry aswell?

Never tried them on my last bike fazer thou, but owners reckoned they were great tyres, some reporting 8k plus out of a rear.

I just luv the blade, and no road salt or winter shit is going any where near it, I will have to change the tyres on the speed, I'll try the pr3 like brybrem, they certainly look the part for grip. And no mr H my boots are black and staying that colour
