    Hello eveyone,
I usually ride and restore old Japanese classics, but a couple of years ago I decided that I needed a modern bike.
I have a 2006 ST 1050 sprint.I have owned this bike for a couple of years and have had no problem with it.It has 42000 miles on the clock and I have just noticed a rattle in the clutch.
When the engine is running in neutral and still cold if I pull the clutch in there is a rattle (not very loud ) from the clutch side, but as the engine warms up the rattle get quieter.
    Any ideas ?

Loads of bikes do this (you probably know this from Classic Japs) - its usually just the plates rattling in the grooves of the clutch basket and nothing to worry about. The crank is never turning at a constant speed at idle so its always speeding up/slowing down and the plates bang about in the grooves..Sometimes an oil change can help. Or balance the bike for a smoother Idle.

Clutches have not changed much mark.
This is just my opinion, if you wanted to be sure it's nothing more sinister then your need to look into it more further. But from what your telling me it sounds like that's what it is :)

Mark , I was talking to one of the Triumph fitters in Dublin about my own bike and I asked him about your clutch . He said that 1050s are known to rattle a bit . So it sounds like it's common .
