I'm wondering if anyone has tried shortening the baffles in the Arrow exhaust cans. I've removed the Euro 4 plate (well documented on here) but it's not quite loud enough. I don't want to remove the baffles completely (also well documented on here) as I think that will be too loud and also seems you may loose some mid-range power. I used to have a Honda CBR600RR with a Micron can. The db killers with that were just short stubs. Power seemed fine. I guess that way keeps similar back pressure in the exhaust. Any thought welcome.
I have literally just given mine to a mate to see if he can do exactly the same thing. I tried to remove the baffle but no, my ones were not welded at the end (seems to be a hit and miss if they are tbh..) I have removed the disk but still quiet imho. I have seen some on fleabay for sale with them (arrows) chopped down from the rear to the edge of the carbon protector. They were £400 and looked brilliant.
I removed 30mm off one a while back for a friend, it sounds a lot more fruity with no loss of power or throttle issues, it is easy to re weld back together if ever it is needed.
The back pressure thing... I really wonder what effect it truly has. I took the twin cans off completely and replaced them with a competition werkes can originally designed for the 2011+ model by using a custom link pipe. Everything seems exactly the same, except now I'm 20 lbs lighter. The noise at high rpm might be a little worse.
Hi guys, sorry to hijack- I'm a new 2019 Speed Triple owner & have fitted a pair of Arrow cans. Not heard of the euro 4 plate thing (had a search on here, but couldn't see any info) - any more info on how these are removed ? Cheers Chris
