    Simple question:
If you were to purchase one of the new 1200 Speed Triples (price not a factor) which would it be?

Triumph fecked up! The bike I want is the RS with the suspension, electronics and colours of the RR (assuming it has separate traction and wheelie control). What they have gave us is a rock hard naked with primitive electronics and crap matt paint, and a well sorted looking machine that the RS should have been but with an overly aggressive riding position

I bought an RS just before the RR was announced. But having seen the pictures, spec and riding position I’d still have bought the RS.

if they had been the same price, I’d still have bought the RS because of the more extreme sports bike riding position of the RR and I’m getting too old for that!

They should have offered RS with semi active suspension option. RR, I am wondering who the market is, personally I would get H2 instead.

I think my biggest gripe with my RS really is the console. Small fonts, and can't show odo/trip + range + temp at the same time. Fisher-Price temp gauge screen, c'mon.

I'm not in those active suspension thing, so i would choose rr with manual ohlins.
Once, dialed proprely, no needs for constant playing with button. Most people I know, after they set up suspension up their needs, never changed anything after.

I’ve got the 2018 RS and I’ve never touched it suspension wise . I just get on and ride it ……no fiddling required .

Having just joined the Triumph Community with a Speed Triple 1200 RS purchased 1 week before the RR was hinted announced, I'm happy with the RS but I'm pretty disappointed with Triumph's approach to their Media engagement. There were the various staged RS media briefings in the campaign with the Chief Engineer etc being interviewed and each time they directly and specifically said they weren't interested in electronic suspension and there would be no other variants..
Personally I would have still chosen the RS, but its one thing to avoid a question, quite a different to lie and remove the decision empowerment from their customers. I would have likely waited and made the choice myself rather than having it forced on me. Simply shows a lack of integrity on their part IMO.

I don't mind the bug eyes or the single round, neither makes me jump up and shout yes, they are both just the business. I wouldn't mind a partial fairing, but there's something about the RR fairing that I don't find attractive, eh.

I love how the new Speed Triple RR looks but I saw a graphic in a recent article (which I now can't find to save my life) that depicted the difference in rider position between the RR and the RS. Sadly, the RR would be far too aggressive a position for my old neck--and back--and shoulders--and wrists.....:joy:
