Hi Guys, Another question. What are the signs that the spragg clutch is on the way out / totally shot and where can you get an uprated one if required.
    Cheers.

Hi, I have done two sprags in 130,000 miles, symptoms 1- banging noise and reluctant starting not always with poor battery.2- Engine not turning over just a whizzing noise = broken outer sprag race.
Early engines had a smaller outside diameter sprag and need a bit of casing removing before the later clutch will fit. Again early engines had a removeable lid on the top and access was fairly easy, later engines need to be turned upside down to gain access, luckily mine is an early one.
My impression is that long high speed rides deprive the sprag of oil as it sits at the top of the gearbox and consequently runs dry.
