Just thought I'd share this but started a new job at work today, for the local vicar, after chatting with him, turns out he rides an 09 plate Bonny and showed me his vintage bike which, and I'd never heard of it, was a 1930 Gnome Rhone, produced by a French company that made aero engines in the first world war and after the war turned their efforts to motorcycles, made for an interesting day.
The Reverend Bill Sherrigold ran the 59’s as kind of motorcycle youth club, but he ran it as a biker himself. (Thats kinda what I remember from that Glory Days: history of British motorcycling anyway)
Sorry Dilli, the opportunity didn't arise to take a pic today but if you google Gnome Rhone M1 1930 and look at the red one that comes up the customers is identical.
