When i go out the house i go to any petrol station im not bothered and none of my bikes have self destructed. Just fill the bloody thing and enjoy it.
Man you are not picky enough, we talk about additives here! You should know that many companies also add different dyes, which also applies to oils of all kinds. Have you never wondered about the different colours? Even hydraulic fluid comes in different colours, not only petrol. Sometimes even the smell is different, I prefer not to talk about the taste here, because it is disgusting beyond measure.
Over the years I have used most of the fuel brands including supermarket.....no discernable difference between any of them.
When I was on the lookout for a 955i Daytona, I was surprised at the number that had tank/paint damage due to ethanol used in standard unleaded petrol. As I didn't want it happening to my bike, I contacted the various petrol suppliers to find out about ethanol content. The only one that would confirm that they had an ethanol free product was Esso. They have since put the info on their website: The majority of unleaded 95 Octane petrol sold in the UK contains up to 5% ethanol as required under the Government’s Renewable Transport Fuels Obligation (RTFO). There is currently no requirement for renewable fuel (such as ethanol) to be present in super unleaded (97 grade petrol). Esso super unleaded petrol (Synergy Supreme+ Unleaded 97) is ethanol free (except in Devon, Cornwall, the Teesside area and Scotland). We would therefore advise anyone who has concerns about the presence of ethanol in petrol to use Synergy Supreme+ – providing they do not fill up in Devon or Cornwall, the Teesside area or Scotland. To me, it is worth the extra few pence a litre so I don't end up with a tank looking like this: I just need to avoid Devon, Cornwall and Teeside... lol
I worked at BP Coryton refinery for a year. Tankers from any supplier you can think of visited to fill up, and the techies told me that they usually add their own brand of additive once they leave site. No idea how they do this; it sounds rather dangerous! Their advice was fill up anywhere there is a relatively high turnover of fuel, supermarkets included. 99-ron for highly tuned turbo motors, anything else they thought were fine with the cheap stuff. You pays your money, etc.
I fill up at my nearest garage, I'm not even sure what fuel it is. (Might be Texaco) Waste of money putting super unleaded in a standard bike. Not recommended for the old air cooled 865 Bonnie.
Hi here in Australia i run 95 wich would be i guess your supe plus i find my deauville pings when i run 91 octane so i run the bonniville on 95 as well usualey use bp
